Alice in Wonderland - The fact that Alice in Wonderland has been made into a movie is already enough to make moviegoers hyped up. And with an amazing cast and production team to bring the book to life, what else can fans ask for? When rumors about a film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland hit tabloids and Hollywood buzz TV programs, there was already a fixation on the actors that will fill in the shoes of the colorful characters of Lewis Carol's masterpiece. It was indeed a powerhouse cast with Tim Burton as director, Helena Bonham Carter as Red Queen, Johnny Depp as Mad Hatter, and fresh-faced Mia Wasikowska as Alice. Aside from these prolific actors
gracing the big screen to bring the story to life, fans and critics are also anticipating how Director Tim Burton would recreate Wonderland through combining live action and animation. We can clearly see this in one scene where Alice fights the Jabberwocky, one of Red Queen's monster minions. To fully maximize the special effects and visuals of the movie, it will also be released in digital 3D. A word of caution: Fans of the book who know the plot even with eyes closed might be surprised at how the film deviated from the original story. In this movie, you will see a 19-year-old Alice who will make her return to Wonderland a decade and 3 years after her first visit. Older Alice seems to have forgotten all about Wonderland and the creatures she has met 13 years ago. The plot of the film revolves around how she will reunite and reconnect with friends from Wonderland, highlighted by her fight with the Jabberwocky to end the reign of the evil Red Queen. Some reviews and critics have mentioned that Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland is a dark fairy tale that would take audience on a rollercoaster of emotions. The Alice that we will see in this film still has that spark of curiosity that young Alice has, but with a different and more daring purpose to her actions. She has not lost her "muchness" in this adaptation. As expected, Tim Burton once again had a very whimsical approach in directing this fantasy-adventure film. He said in an interview once that he wanted his version of Alice in Wonderland to be able to highlight the philosophies embodied in the plot and characters in the book. Aside from the special effects and visuals, another noteworthy aspect of the film is the script. There are a number of scenes in the movie that has the most memorable and meaningful quotes that express individuality and being true to oneself. This movie is indeed one of the best films that Tim Burton has ever directed.
